Trivial Pursuit of Instant Gratification

Thu Feb 16, 2006, 2:39 PM
That which does not kill us only makes us appear all the more stranger to our company. We strive for temporary bliss in spite of pre-concieved knowledge of it being so. Eventually, we have to repay a sort of debt for....if you will....borrow happiness from our surrroundings, like energy, it comes and goes. We want gratification in all immediateness, "ecstacy now!"...in all spheres of life...work, sex, recreation....we seek it out and revel in it, yet we know iit is temporary, against our wishes of course. If we are aware of the fact, then why do we strive to achieve something so impermanent?....
